In May, the children in Spraoi became gardeners. Inspired by the Julia Donaldson story ‘Superworm‘, and a lovely sensory exploration with the soil, the children made cozy beds for some sweet pea seeds and planted them. They learned and observed over the coming weeks, that with sunlight, air, water and care, that the seeds would grow into shoots and then a sweet pea plant. Along with their own potted plant, everybody received a special book on graduation day entitled ‘ Superworm and his Friends’ – a story celebrating superpowers and promoting the importance of the right nurturing to thrive. We weren’t just talking about the plants! Each valued member of Spraoi has their own super power and as a team have provided the right atmosphere to thrive in school this year. They all received gardening certificates also. Well done Spraoi.
